40 years of growing our region – CAEHYR celebrates its lasting impact

Granby, May 28 – The Centre d’aide aux entreprises Haute-Yamaska et région (CAEHYR) proudly celebrated 40 years of contribution to local economic development today at a 4 à 7 gathering at the Vélo Vida boutique in Bromont under the theme “L’humain au cœur de la réussite.”

To mark the occasion, the CAEHYR team unveiled its new 40th anniversary visual, presented its 2024-2025 annual report and outlined the new strategic plan that will guide CAEHYR’s actions over the next five years.

A successful balance sheet

The annual report presents a very positive picture, with a 24% increase over last year. In fact, $2,315,137 was invested in the form of loans, non-repayable contributions and local development projects for 46 businesses, including the Vélo Vida boutique, a dynamic local enterprise that benefited from the guidance and financial support of CAEHYR.

“CAEHYR’s support has been decisive for the development of our company. Thanks to their human accompaniment and financial flexibility, we’ve been able to accelerate our growth, structure our offering and create a real impact in our cycling community.”

– Andres Abu-Shihab, co-owner of the Vélo Vida boutique.

CAEHYR is more than just financing, it’s also a record number of requests for information, technical assistance and coaching, with 371 interventions with different clienteles such as students, pre-startup entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs taking over. CAEHYR’s various funds, including CAE, FIJE, Jeunesse, Stratégie transfert, Stratégie numérique et verte and Flexiprêt, all contributed to this remarkable performance.

“We are proud of the results for the year 2024-2025. With a strong team, a long-term agreement with Canada Economic Development (CED) and over $11 million in investment funds, we’re ready to take on tomorrow’s challenges with confidence and enthusiasm.”

– David Dupont, President of CAEHYR.

An innovative five-year strategic plan

This strategic plan is intended as a compass to guide CAEHYR’s actions in the coming years, in order to simplify the path for entrepreneurs and reinforce the impact of our interventions. The planning process took place over several months and was based on a participatory and exploratory approach, combining internal workshops, interviews with strategic partners and analyses of territorial dynamics. The process enabled us to identify opportunities and establish clear priorities.

Our five-year plan focuses on entrepreneurial succession, and we’re already seeing the results: acquisition projects are up, and our strategic funds for transfer and digital and green transformation have been successfully activated.”

– Isabelle Brochu, CAEHYR General Manager.
