CAEHYR launches its Signature Podcast to mark 40 years of entrepreneurial support

Granby, September 8, 2025 – The Centre d’aide aux entreprises Haute-Yamaska et région (CAEHYR) celebrates 40 years of history with the official launch of its Signature Podcast, D’hier à aujourd’hui, les 40 ans du CAEHYR. This exclusive episode offers a captivating glimpse into the world of regional entrepreneurship, tracing four decades of involvement. The launch interview was conducted live on M105 with host Marie-Ève Dupré, who also hosts the podcast.

Two leaders, a shared history

This interview highlights an inspiring conversation between Roland Choinière, former General Manager of CAEHYR (1984-2011) and Isabelle Brochu, current General Manager since 2014. Together, they revisit the great moments that shaped the organization.

“In 1984, we were faced with an unemployment rate of over 12% and an interest rate of 22%, a major challenge for entrepreneurs who were struggling to maintain their operations and move forward with their projects,” recalls Roland Choinière. Under his leadership, CAEHYR established itself in three MRCs: Haute-Yamaska, Brome-Missisquoi and Rouville, becoming a key partner for thousands of companies, many of which are now recognized internationally.

Agility for entrepreneurs

On her arrival in 2014, Isabelle Brochu “returned to her roots”, motivated by a desire to have a direct impact on entrepreneurs. In particular, she highlights CAEHYR’s ability to adapt during crises experienced over the years: “For example, during the pandemic, we successfully set up the Fonds d’aide à la relance régionale (FARR), a special fund designed to support entrepreneurs in difficulty. In just three months, 67 loans were granted. We worked hand in hand with them, and we continue to do so today.”

In 2025, even if technology has become indispensable, CAEHYR maintains a personalized and collaborative approach in partnership with other economic players to meet the needs of entrepreneurs.

40 years at the heart of the entrepreneurial ecosystem

CAEHYR now has to deal with economic growth, sustainable development issues, labour shortages and company takeovers.
Its role remains crucial: to support businesses so that they can prosper and raise the profile of the region. “Because when entrepreneurs are doing well, the whole region is doing well,” emphasizes Isabelle Brochu.

This Podcast is much more than a retrospective: it’s a tribute to the people who have built the region over the past 40 years.
