Marie-Ève Lussier
Marie-Eve Lussier, landscape architect and founder of NaturEden, a landscape architecture firm that builds harmonious, lively and colorful living spaces that integrate with nature, transforming magnificently with the seasons. Places of beauty where a natural equilibrium is established to the delight of all spheres of the living world.
Why did I become an entrepreneur or manager?
Having grown up on an agricultural farm with vast open spaces, nature is part of Marie-Eve Lussier's roots. From an early age, she knew the Latin names of the perennials in the flowerbeds of her grandmother, who had a passion for English gardens. Attracted to architecture, Marie-Eve completed her college studies in natural sciences with honors, a bachelor's degree in landscape architecture at the Université de Montréal and an exchange session in residential architecture. One project at a time, Marie-Eve Lussier began her career as a landscape architect in the energetic Montreal region, when she set up her first firm, Mel Design. In 2006, her unique garden created for the international Flora exhibition won the "Coup de cœur du public" award. To meet the growing demand, Marie-Eve Lussier surrounded herself with a team and founded the firm Création NaturEden. Inspiration for the landscape architect and her team comes from the beauty of natural landscapes. For over 20 years now, Marie-Eve Lussier and her team have been shaping each project according to the unique nature of each site, the uniqueness of the landscape and the respective desires of each customer.
As the mother of two children who are now teenagers, she has managed to juggle motherhood with the growth of her business. It has been one of the greatest challenges in her life as an entrepreneur to combine entrepreneurial responsibilities with all the new emotions associated with motherhood. Especially since her eldest son was born polyallergic to a number of foods, including eggs and dairy products! Let's just say that her fascination with chemistry has been a great help in adapting family recipes.
Why am I a mentor?
Descended from multiple generations of farmers, I've been immersed in the management of the family farm since childhood. A field crop farm is like a dozen small businesses revolving around a heart that beats to the rhythm of Mother Nature. It's a challenging environment! Growing up with more and more responsibilities, but also encouraged to take the initiative by my parents in a wide range of projects, I evolved by choosing positions for my first jobs as a department manager. It was only natural to set up my own business in the first year after graduating from university, with the support of my father, himself a strong entrepreneur. Entrepreneurial challenges have made me grow, evolve and learn more than any other experience. It's with great openness and a deep desire to give back that I now want to help other entrepreneurs by becoming a mentor.
