Professional and personal development

Trained as an engineer, after a few years in a commercial glass manufacturing plant in various positions in Montreal and Toronto, I worked for over thirty years in project management in the fields of process control, automation and manufacturing IT, carrying out projects in various industries.

I started my own company in this field in 2001. I was involved in all operational aspects: from developing the business plan, setting up the structure, recruiting and managing staff, business development, setting up offices in the USA and the Caribbean, to selling the company. Subsequently, I worked for our buyers in a large corporate structure, so as an intrapreneur.

I’m proud of my career as an entrepreneur, of having surrounded myself with partners with complementary talents, of having taken the right risks to grow the company and, above all, of having offered a respectful working environment where our employees could achieve their full potential.

Why am I a mentor?

At this stage of my career, jI feel like getting involved and supporting our entrepreneurs on their journey. As entrepreneurs, we can sometimes feel alone, have doubts, forget ourselves and our loved ones. Being able to talk openly about it helps us to take stock, evolve, validate our ideas and define our own approach. I know today that having had this help would surely have helped me in my evolution as an entrepreneur. I’ve been a mentor since 2021.

Throughout my career, I’ve always been a good listener and respected others. I believe these are essential qualities for a mentor.

Values, passions and interests

Respect and honesty. Being a good listener. Respecting differences. Family unity is very important to me. So are my friendships.

I love cooking and sitting around a big table. I’ve been lucky enough to travel a lot and now I want to go further afield and discover other cultures. My children are often involved in our travel plans.

Interests: Golf, downhill skiing, outdoors, fitness, boating, snowshoeing, reading, music, guitar, keeping myself informed about our World… I like a bit of everything.

My message to mentees

Keep an open mind. Take time for reflection outside the operational context. Your mentor is there to listen, support you and provide food for thought. Make the most of it!
