Example: A children’s educational games company focuses on design and educational testing. Manufacturing is delegated. It focuses on what creates its unique value, not on doing everything itself.

6. Des partenaires stratégiques bien choisis

It doesn’t do everything alone. The winning OMG relies on allies to reinforce its model: subcontractors, distributors, experts, influencers, etc.

Example: A catering service for schools teams up with local producers to secure supplies and reinforce its responsible image. Partners reinforce the model, bringing credibility or resources that are difficult to internalize.

7. A consistent revenue stream

Revenue sources are viable, diversified if possible, and aligned with the value proposition (e.g. one-off sale, subscription, commission, etc.).

Example: A yoga center sells not only individual classes, but also monthly subscriptions and online training. This diversifies income and stabilizes cash flow. More than a product, there’s a clear monetization strategy.

8. A well-controlled cost structure

Costs are clear, balanced with revenues, and optimized. It helps to maintain margins and be resilient.

Example: Control costs, monitor them and see opportunities. Result: costs under control and profitability easier to achieve.

9. A living, evolving BMC

It doesn’t stand still. A winning SME tests, adjusts and evolves its business model according to feedback from the field or changes in the market.

Example: An audio production studio which, seeing the rise of podcasts, has added an editing and support service for content creators. It adjusts its model to market opportunities.

10. Overall consistency between blocks

All the pieces fit together well. There’s a fluid logic between customers, activities, resources, revenues and channels. No pieces that “sound wrong”.

Example: A company that makes eco-friendly bike accessories for active urbanites, sells online, communicates via cycling influencers, uses recycled materials, and donates a portion to soft mobility initiatives. Each decision reinforces the whole model. Everything is consistent.
