Self-employment support measure
Thinking of starting your own business?
An Emploi-Québec initiative, the Self-employment support measure, could be the solution for you to join the labour market and create your own job. You could be eligible if:
- You draw Employment Insurance benefits
- You draw Social Welfare benefits
- You are unemployed and have drawn Employment Insurance benefits in the past 48 months
- You are unemployed and have drawn Employment Insurance benefits in the past 60 months for maternity or parental leave
- You are unemployed and without government income support (technical support only)
- You are a worker in a precarious situation
To be supported, your business project must be viable, meet a community need and must not create unfair competition for existing businesses in the territory.
